  • MFW F/W 13 | Iceberg, Kenzo and Neil Barrett

Bauhaus sharpness and color-blocking seems to be in the air in Milan; from literal translations at Iceberg and Neil Barrett to a slightly more relaxed and gentle ones at Kenzo.
Iceberg showed restraint and austerity through color-blocked pullovers and coats in neoprene, nylon and wool, all in black and camel with accented red, blue and yellow. At Neil Barrett the severity was emphasized through shape and texture with a neutral palette. Meanwhile at Kenzo, the color-blocking served as illusion, creating new silhouettes. The palette stayed strong, focusing on a cloud motif in pale blue, deep red and navy. Without a doubt, the structural theme hung in the air as each designer’s take on bauhaus came into being.
